Debatable Issue On Online Courses

The new U.S. Department of Education regulation that requires schools to register in all the states where they provide online courses to student's, may prove to be a serious hindrance in the industry's growth. The online courses industry has witnessed phenomenal growth and almost 4.3 million students across the country take at least one online course.
Online courses have been a debatable issue since some feel that it gives more students a way to access education while some have raised doubts about the effectiveness of such online courses.
A government analysis found out that online courses were better in case of some students but their report was soon followed by a report by the Community College Research Center which stated that students in online courses had a higher rate of failing or dropping out compared to the students who attended regular schools.
The regulation has been met with dismay from many students who try to save money by taking online courses which are cheaper than the conventional classes. This regulation will also require many states to change their oversight systems.
